Share Your Story

Whether you’re a Montana brain injury survivor, caregiver, family member, friend, or a Montana professional who works closely with brain injury, we would love to hear your story. Writing and sharing about our personal experiences can provide comfort to others facing similar challenges.

Currently, there are four opportunities for your story to be heard:

  • Testimonials: Your story will be posted on our BIAMT website and marketing materials.
  • Meet Campaign: Your story will be shared on BIAMT social media and with our email subscribers.
  • Strides: Your story will be published in our next edition of our quarterly e-newsletter.
  • Unmasking Brain Injury: Create a mask for our unmasking brain injury in Montana Project.

If you are looking for a place to start, here are some ideas:

  • Survivor: Describe what caused your injury and the symptoms you experienced. Tell us your journey and where you are now. How have you grown? What have you learned? What did you wish you had told yourself when the injury first happened?
  • Caregiver: Describe your relation to the brain injury survivor you care for and how long you have helped them. What are the challenges? How rewarding are the “good days”? What keeps you going?
  • Family Member/Friend: Describe your relation to the brain injury survivor and how long you have known them. Did you know them before their injury? Has your relationship with your family member or friend changed? What has been most difficult for you through this new chapter? What advice would you share with other friends and family members that have a loved one recovering from a brain injury?
  • Professional: Describe your profession and how it connects with brain injury. What made you want to work in this field? What has been the best experience so far working with brain injury survivors and their families?

How to submit your story to BIAMT:

  • Email our Community and Outreach Coordinator with the subject titled “STORY SUBMISSION.” Send to info@biamt.org
  • Include your name, address, phone number, email address, and suggested title at the top of the email.
  • Include where you would like your story to be shared (Meet Campaign, Strides, Testimonial, or multiple areas.)
  • Make sure your story is attached in a .doc or .pdf file.

Specifications

  • To be considered for publication, your story must be between 500 and 750 words.
  • If there are edits that need to be made (grammatical or for clarification), we will send you back the final draft for approval.
  • We will need at least one photograph of you.
  • We will send you a release form for you to sign and return to us.

Become a Board Member in 2026

The Board of Directors has the ultimate responsibility for the Brain Injury Alliance of Montana. The Board develops policies for the organization in response to the stated mission of the organization and oversees the Program Director to administer the daily affairs. The Board is responsible for the organization’s mission, for the expenditure of all funds, and for carrying out the policies of the Alliance. In order to achieve this goal, the Board of Directors is responsible for encouraging private giving and for raising the funds required by the Alliance to fulfill its mission in cooperation with the staff and Director.

We are currently looking for people with a diverse background to help us represent the entire state of Montana. Both Board Members and Ad hoc Members serve from January through December. You are able to submit an application any time throughout the year, however the Board will not review them until September.
