Charney joined BIAMT in July 2014. Her most recent work experience was as an Employment Specialist with Experience Works and as a Visitor Service Associate with the Missoula Art Museum. Her previous work included serving as the Executive Director of the YWCA of Sioux Falls, SD, the YWCA of Billings, MT, the Network Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse (Bozeman, MT) the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Park County (Livingston, MT) and the Volunteer and Information Center (Sioux Falls, SD). Her direct service positions included Placement Director at Billings Business College; Belgrade School to Work Coordinator and Certified Workforce Development Specialist through Career Transitions, Inc. (Belgrade, MT), South Dakota Assistant State Director of Green Thumb (Sioux Falls, SD), Aging Services Manager (Sioux Falls, SD), and as the Community Resource Developer for Refugee & Immigration Services, Lutheran Social Services (Sioux Falls, SD). Charney served two terms on the Montana Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence (two years as Chair), and two terms on the Montana Non-Profit Association (two years as Secretary). Her community volunteer participation includes serving on non-profit agency Board of Directors, municipal Planning Boards, and statewide advocacy Boards. She was recognized as the 2005 Woman of Achievement by the Bozeman Business and Professional Women and the Montana Business and Professional Women.
Sahra joined the BIAMT in the spring of 2015. As a communications professional her background includes journalism, writing, editing, public relations and photography. With many years experience in media, her work has appeared in both print publications and online. Public relations and reporting work include general and to the trade publications, advertising, press releases, print collateral, direct mail and more. As a marketing campaign strategist, her skills have helped clients market their business for local, regional and online channels including social media. Experience in retail management and customer service round out her communications practice.
